Web Design
GeNext Software design, development, and technical skills help you create an impressive online presence. After our initial contact with you we will setup a meeting with you to learn about your business. Before this meeting we will send you a fact finding document, which we will review together at that meeting. It will help to learn basics of how things work online & us to learn about your business. This document includes some of the following topics:
- Domain Name & Web Hosting Information
- Logo Information
- Main Site Purpose & Target Market
- General Ideas
- Overall Site Design (Template)
- Specific Page Ideas
- Costs & Timeline
This questionnaire will serve as a great start & give us plenty to discuss. As this meeting progresses, we will record the information of what we discussed. We listen to all of your ideas & questions. Those questions help us learn more about your desires & business, while also allowing us to better inform you on how to best create an online presence. This meeting is a free meeting (unless over 30 miles of travel is required). If we are interested in working you & you wish to use our services we will review the contract. This is a very basic document which will give you an idea of when & how we charge. After the meeting we will update the fact finding document & send it to you via e-mail to review & update. Once we have your approval for this document we will begin designing the template.
The template is the overall feel your site displays; it stays the same from page to page. An example of this would be a business logo heading or page links menu. The template must be done before we get into the individual page level & can be the hardest part. When the template is done right the content from each page will fit easily & coherently. We will keep in contact as we work on this until you are satisfied with the template. Sometimes the template evolves from the original design & brings up more information about what the overall content of the site will be. As this happens we will keep the fact finding document updated & send to you for approval. We do not want to do tasks spending time where you would prefer we did not.
As the design starts on each page we will again meet with you to discuss the search engine optimization. You can have the best site in the world but without visitors your site is a bad investment. While we touch on this in the original meeting it is not something you discuss much. The site content & setup dictates in part how people will look for your site. Site Engine optimization is just one of many ways that people will find your site. We will discuss the other things you need to know. Part of this information is online at our How to Get Great Search Engine Placement & the Most Visits page. At this point we will teach you more about search engines with our "3 Ways People Find Your Site" document, which is special to our web design customers only.
Once the original site is designed and on the Internet we stay involved and do maintenance. This helps to insure that your site keeps a consistent feel that customers appreciate. Also you can use your free web statistics available for every site GeNext Software hosts to learn how to make your site better.
